But here's the kicker. Under the new rules, the FCC gets to decide if a particular technology provides sufficient protection. If you're not on the FCC's pre-approved list, you can't sell your product....The FCC's plan sounds a little like the old Soviet Union. And we know how well centralized state control worked for them. That's why Congress never gave the FCC the power to dictate the design of new computers or consumer electronics devices.
